Here’s the thing: I like science. Not the math and lab coats and long drawn out explanations part, but just the pure wonder of it all. Plus, I like explosions. So What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions was the perfect book for me. Randall Munroe of xkcd fame takes scientific inquiry to ridiculous extremes, but keeps everything grounded in real science. It’s dry, it’s funny, it’s accessible to the layperson (me), and it’s highly entertaining.
