The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell

Each chapter of this book takes you a little deeper into the lives of Rose Baker, who is shy and unsure of herself, and Odalie Lazare, who is pretty, outgoing and daring.

The author gives you a look at their lives as typists in the NYC Police Department precinct where they take notes from criminals in the interrogation room, their nightlife at the swanky hotel where they live and the speakeasies they frequent. The fabulous vacation they had as a result of being gate crashers at the home of a wealthy family, soon leads to their downfall as you will read in the surprise ending.

The author has a unique way of drawing you into the character and mind of each girl, thereby making this a book you can’t put down.

I read this book because it was on the 100 Book Challenge list. I would recommend it to adults and as a book discussion book.

I am currently reading The Kremlin Conspiracy by Joel Rosenberg.
