Staff book review by Karen Honkala from the Middlefield Branch

Night Road by Kristin Hannah

This story is about the amazing friendship of two girls from opposite sides of the track, as well as, a love story. Senior year in high school with all the parties and boundary pushing is a scary experience for any parent.  One wrong decision on a warm summer night can have heartbreaking consequences.

Title details for Night Road by Kristin Hannah - Wait listI felt every emotion these characters experienced, just when things seemed to be looking up and getting on an even keel….the unexpected would happen. I could relate to the liveliness of raising teenagers and the well-intended, but, bad choice.  This book showed the necessity of forgiveness to free the soul to live again.

I would highly recommend this book. Ideal audience is teen through adult, especially recommended for parents of teenagers. It also provides a powerful lesson in forgiveness.
