Staff album review by Grant Mastropieri: Sleep, The Sciences

January 2, 2019

The Sciences

The mighty Sleep have gifted the doom scene with yet another fantastic record this year. Showcasing a familiar weight and boldness, yet a new subtlety in composition and phrasing, The Sciences has proven to stand up with the trio’s previous work. Its release was a shock to most, save those who decoded a morse code message on the official band website reading “NEARING COMPLETION OF NEW ALBUM”. With five brand new tracks and a killer revisiting to the legendary “Sonic Titan”, this record is a blast to listen to, especially on full volume.

Grant is a shelver at our Bainbridge Branch. He is currently reading Beren and Lúthien by J.R.R. Tolkien.
