Book Review on Betty Crocker Smoothies

I love smoothies and I drink them all the time, so I am always on the lookout for new recipes.

Betty Crocker Smoothies begins by giving you tips and tricks to build your smoothie. It offers alternative ingredients if you want to mix it up or add more flavor, and it gives recommendations for building them in the perfect order for blending.

This book is broken up into five sections: fruit smoothies, veggie smoothies, indulgent smoothies, popsicles, and juices. Every smoothie recipe has a picture so you know what it is going to look like, and almost all of them can be made in ten minutes or less. Their ingredient lists often contain only a few ingredients and are commonly found in the grocery store. They range anywhere from the traditional berry smoothie to the more seasonal pumpkin pie yogurt smoothie.

I liked this book and found quite a few new recipes to add to my collection. I read the popsicle and juice sections, but my primary focus was on the smoothie sections. A few of my favorites? Creamy peach, strawberry-orange, and chocolate-peanut butter-banana.

Halli Pliml is a circulation clerk at our Bainbridge Branch. She is currently reading Healthy, Quick & Easy Smoothies by Dana Angelo White.
