    Before diving into our new catalog, we recommend you tackle a few house-keeping chores to ensure a good user-experience. At first, you’ll want to:

    Update browser bookmarks

    If you have our old catalog linked in your browser’s bookmarks, be sure to update that link with our new catalog’s URL.

    Review account information

    Due to the transition, login information saved on your browser or phone will not transfer to our new catalog. We recommend that you review and save your login information to ensure you can access your account once the transition is complete.

    Review lists

    If you use the lists feature in our current catalog, please do not add any new titles after October 13, as we will be transferring existing lists to our new catalog. Any titles added after will not be transferred.

    Geauga County Public Library and CLEVNET have decided to make the switch to Aspen Discovery because it offers a more user-friendly, modern browsing experience that makes it easier to find the books, movies, and CDs you want. It also offers innovative features, personalized content, and advanced search tools designed to help you more easily discover all that we have to offer.

    Signing In & Out

    Signing In

  • Sign in by clicking “Sign In” at the top right of the page
  • Enter your Geauga County Public Library card number and your PIN/password
  • If you have forgotten your PIN/password, please see our catalog FAQs or contact your local library branch for assistance.
  • Signing Out

  • Click the menu (located on the top right of the screen) and select “Sign Out” at the bottom of the menu
  • Viewing Account Details

    Viewing Account Details

  • Sign in by clicking “Sign In” at the top right of the page
  • Enter your Geauga County Public Library card number and your PIN/password
  • Click on the silhouette located at the top right of your screen
  • In this page, under the “Your Account” drop-down menu, you can:
  • View checkouts, holds, reading history, and recommendations
  • Pay fines
  • Access a digital version of your library card
  • Create lists
  • Under the “Account Settings” drop-down menu, you can view and edit:
  • Account preferences
  • Contact information
  • Linked accounts
  • PIN and/or password
  • Reset Your PIN

    Forgotten PIN

  • Click “Sign-In” at the top right of the page
  • Click “Reset My PIN or Password”
  • Enter your library card number without spaces or dashes
  • Click “Reset My PIN”
  • You will then receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions
  • Resetting Pin

  • Click “Sign-In” at the top right of the page
  • Log in with your library card number and PIN/password
  • Click “Reset PIN/Password” in the Account Settings menu
  • Enter your existing PIN

    Starting a Basic Search

  • Type your search term in the search box
  • Select a field from the drop down menu
  • Select the collection from the drop down menu
  • Click “Search” to execute your search
  • Search Results

  • Click the item’s title to see additional information
  • Information on the author, series, publisher, etc. will display (when available)
  • From there, you can see if the item is:
  • Available at your local branch
  • Available for download
  • Available at another Geauga County Public Library branch or CLEVNET library
  • Checked out or unavailable
  • For additional information, such as book descriptions, similar titles or authors, and reading levels, click the “More Info” button
  • Holds & More

    Placing a Hold

  • Click “Sign-In” at the top right of the page
  • Execute a search and find what you would like to request
  • Find the format you would like and click “Place Hold”
  • Placing a Hold on a Specific Edition

  • After you search and locate the desired item, click “Show Editions”
  • Click “Place Hold” next to the desired item
  • Canceling a Hold

  • Click “Cancel Hold” next to any hold you wish to cancel
  • You will then be prompted, “Are you sure you want to cancel this hold?”
  • Click “Confirm Cancel Hold”
  • Managing Your Holds

  • Click on the silhouette located at the top right of your screen
  • In the drop-down menu, click on “Titles on Hold”
  • Here you can view and edit:
  • Holds ready for pick-up
  • Pending or processing holds
  • Hold pick-up location
  • Position on hold list
  • Making & Managing Lists

    Creating a New List

  • Sign in to your account
  • Click on the silhouette located at the top right of your screen
  • In the drop-down menu, click on “Your Lists”
  • Click “Create a New List”
  • Enter a list name and description
  • Select your list’s privacy permissions
  • Select “Create List”
  • Adding Items to Lists

  • Execute a search and find what you would like to add to your list
  • Click on the item and then click “Add to List”
  • Click “Save to List”
  • Linked Accounts

    What are Linked Accounts?

    Linked accounts allow you to easily maintain multiple accounts so you can see all of your information in one place. Information from linked accounts will appear when you view your checkouts, holds, etc. in the main account. To enable this feature, you must have the card number and PIN to link an account. Linking someone’s account to your account doesn’t link yours to theirs – they would also need to link accounts to see your information.

    How to Link Accounts

  • Sign in to your account
  • Click on “Linked Accounts” under Account Settings
  • Click on “Add an Account”
  • Enter the library card number and PIN of the account you wish to link
  • Click “Add Account”
