Library Board of Trustees
About the Library Board
Geauga County Public Library’s Board of Trustees is a body politic and political subdivision of the State of Ohio with autonomous responsibility for overseeing and guiding library operations and strategies. This includes everything from reviewing capital projects to approving the Library’s operating policies.
The Board of Trustees consists of seven trustees, who each serve a four (4) year term that expires on on June 30. Terms are staggered, with one term expiring every year. Four trustees are appointed by Geauga County’s Board of County Commissioners and the remaining three by Geauga County’s Court of Common Pleas. Trustees do not receive compensation or benefits for their service on the Board.

The Board of Trustees meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 4 PM on a rotational basis at all Geauga County Public Library branches. Attendance is open to the public; participation is governed by the Library’s Public Participation at Board Meetings Policy.
