Create, Collaborate, Educate

Our Digital Legacy Labs are creative, collaborative, and educational spaces that provide access to advanced software, technologies, and equipment used to convert analog materials and memories to digital files. Digital Legacy Labs are available at all Geauga County Public Library branches and to all library cardholders.

While we only require patrons to sign our Digital Legacy Lab User Agreement form, we do encourage all interested patrons to attend an orientation or watch our training videos before using the Digital Legacy Lab. Orientations are available in-person and virtually each month and last 90 minutes.

Need a little extra help operating a machine? Schedule your next visit during our Digital Legacy Lab’s consultation hours and let us help you digitize your documents.

Digital Legacy Labs are more than just digitization spaces; they are spaces filled with high tech equipment that can be used to pursue creative interests of all types and sizes. Whether you are looking to start a podcast with friends, design a monthly newsletter for your business, record music with a band, or create digital art, our Digital Legacy Labs can handle these tasks and more.

Saving Your Work

Before beginning your digitization or creative projects, please note that the Library does not provide storage devices like USB flash drives or CDs to save your work. Digital Legacy Lab specialists recommend all users bring a 8GB USB flash drive with them during their visit. Other methods of saving your work include: cloud storage (Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Apple iCloud), CDs, DVDs, and email.

Adobe Creative Suite

To save and preserve your physical documents in the best possible condition, Digital Legacy Labs are home to the complete Adobe Creative Suite. Learn how to use these programs to save and restore your documents to their fullest potential with LinkedIn Learning‘s Adobe tutorials, perfect for both beginners and professionals.
