Maker Space

Create & Innovate

Our Maker Space, located at our Bainbridge Branch, is a creative, educational spaces that provide library cardholders access to advanced software, technologies, and equipment. The Maker Space is available to all Geauga County Public Library cardholders. It is free to use, though users are required to pay for the materials used (e.g., 3D printing filament, vinyl material) or use their own pre-approved materials.

Before jumping headfirst into your next project, we require that all users complete the training program associated with the machine they would like to use and sign our User Agreement. Trainings are available in-person and virtually each month, and last between 60-90 minutes depending on the machine.

Available Equipment

3D Printer

Submit 3D designs and pick up your work once finished.

  • Requests must be submitted as a .STL, .OBJ, or a .3MF file.
  • Requests cannot take longer than 3 hours or be larger than 8″x8″x10″ in size.
  • Materials used will be billed to your library account.
  • Note: 3D printers are in public areas, so the library reserves the right to refuse to print items it deems inappropriate.

    Cricut Maker

    Create your own designs and cut, score or write them on a variety of materials.

  • Usable file types include .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, .BMP, .SVG, or .DXF files.
  • Crafting tool kit (hobby knife, rotary blade, scoring stylus, etc.) available.
  • Available at: Bainbridge Branch, Geauga West Branch

    Direct-to-Garment Printer

    Print designs directly onto T-shirts, apparel, tote bags and other fabric products.

  • Fabric must be at least 50% cotton.
  • Printed designs cannot 8.3″ x 11.7″ in size.
  • Available at: Bainbridge Branch

    Embroidery Machine

    Automatically stitch designs with the click of a button.

  • Requires a .PES file-type to embroider.
  • Can embroider up to 10 colors at a time.
  • Embroidery cannot be larger than 7.875”x14” in size.

    Heat Press

    Transfer custom designs on to fabric materials using heat and vinyl/sublimation paper.

  • Review vinyl/sublimation paper’s recommended temperature, pressure, and duration for proper use; settings differ per material make and manufacturer.
  • Available at: Bainbridge Branch

    Large Format Printer

    Print documents using .PDF files up to 54″ across and in any length.

  • CMYK full color printing available.
  • Files must have a DPI of 300 or higher.
  • Usable materials include vinyl, canvas, paper, static cling, etc.
  • Available at: Bainbridge Branch

    Laser Engraver

    Perform high-quality engraving and cutting on flat or cylindrical materials.

  • Requires a .PDF file-type to engrave.
  • Material testing is recommended.
  • Materials must be smaller than 24″ x 36″ x 10″ in size.

    Sew designs on to fabric products with a single-needle sewing machine.
