Family & Local History
Discover History
The Anderson Allyn Room, located in the Chardon Branch, is where you can find the Library’s Family & Local History department and the county’s largest collection of local and family history documents. Here you can trace your family’s lineage and explore our community’s history and legacy.
Our collection consists of digital and physical materials. A few of our more popular digital resources include Ancestry.com, Fold3, and Heritage Quest. In our Anderson Allyn Room, we maintain some Geauga birth and death records, city directories, maps/atlases, local newspapers, and more.
The Anderson Allyn Room is available during library hours and by appointment. To schedule an appointment, please call the Chardon Branch and ask for the Reference Desk.
