Notary Services
Need a document notarized?
Geauga County Public Library provides free notary services at the Library’s six branches. Library notary services are intended for simple one- to two-page documents that do not require specialized expertise; this limitation is put in place to protect both the Library and those involved in the service. For questions, please contact our Administrative Center for more information.
Items that we cannot notarize include:
- 1-9 forms
- Codicils
- Corporate documents
- Documents requiring
- Living wills or trusts
- Passport or visa applications
- Quit claim deeds
- Real estate documents
Library notaries reserve the right to refuse service for any reason, including (but not limited to) reasons pertaining to Library operations, suspicions regarding the authenticity of the document, the length of the document, and the expertise required to verify the veracity of the contents of the document.
Service Availability
Library notaries are typically available for notary services during normal business hours. However, their presence is not guaranteed. To ensure the availability of notary, we recommended contacting your local branch and confirming that a library notary is available for service.
