From the Director’s Office
The summer sun might still be shining brightly, but the back-to-school season is just around the corner! As students, parents, and educators gear up for another year of learning, Geauga County Public Library is here to help you start the school year with confidence and enthusiasm. We’re excited to present a wide range of back-to-school resources and materials that cater to learners of all ages and stages. Whether you’re a kindergartner embarking on your first educational adventure or a college student diving into higher studies, our library has you covered.
A World of Knowledge at Your Fingertips
Our library boasts tens of thousands of books, eBooks, and audiobooks that cater to every interest. From science and mathematics to history and literature, we have an extensive collection that supports every educational goal. Students can explore these resources to supplement their coursework, conduct research, or simply satisfy their intellectual curiosity.
Online Databases & Research Tools
Research projects become a breeze with our online databases; students can access scholarly articles, reference materials, and up-to-date information on a variety of subjects. Our librarians are always available to guide you through the process, helping you make the most of these valuable resources.
One recent addition to our database and research catalog we are excited to offer is Rosetta Stone Library Solution. This innovative language-learning resource can help learners of all ages and skill levels develop a well-supported understanding of up to 30 languages through interactive lessons, videos, phrasebooks, and more.
Educational Programs
We’re not just about books! Our library hosts engaging history programs covering a variety of topics as well as programs teaching effective study techniques, time management skills, and stress-relief strategies during exams.
This fall, we are happy to welcome The Learning Disabilities Association of Ohio to our Administrative Center on November 2 for our “Special Education Workshop for Parents.” This special program aims to help parents and caregivers better understand special education procedures, evaluations, IEPs, and parental rights.
College & Career Resources
For high school students looking ahead to higher education, we provide resources for college applications, scholarship information, and career exploration. Our library can be your partner in navigating the path to a successful future.
Technology, Printing, & Hotspots
Embrace the digital age with our selection of tech tools and gadgets. As schools have started to rely more and more on technology, so, too, do their students. Though, many students don’t have computers, printers, or internet access readily available to suit their educational needs. We strive to fill this need through free computer access and low-cost printing options at all six of our library branches, as well as offer checkout-able hotspots so that every student can learn to the best of their abilities.
As summer break draws to a close, the excitement of a new school year begins to take center stage. At Geauga County Public Library, we’re committed to making that transition smooth and empowering. Our back-to-school resources and materials are designed to support learners of all ages and backgrounds, whether you’re a student, parent, or educator. Visit us today and discover how we and our collection of books, services, and resources can help you make this school year your most successful one yet!
