Press Release
Geauga County Public Library is proud to announce the return of its Valentines for Seniors program, inviting community members of all ages to help spread cheer to local seniors this Valentine’s Day.
Beginning January 7, Geauga County Public Library will offer Valentine craft stations at all library branches, where free card-making supplies and embellishments will be made available for patrons to craft special Valentine cards and messages. Patrons are also welcome to use their own materials at home or the library and submit their completed cards at their local branch.
Local community groups and organizations — such as scout troops, 4-H clubs, church groups, or other community service organizations — are encouraged to participate. Group kits are available upon request while supplies last; interested groups should contact their local branch for more information.
Completed cards must be returned to any Geauga County Public Library branch by the end of day on Wednesday, February 4, to be included in the program. Cards should not be placed in envelopes or addressed to a specific individual. Geauga County Public Library’s Outreach Department will then distribute the cards to homebound patrons and senior living facilities in time for Valentine’s Day.
Valentines for Seniors has seen tremendous community support and success in years past. In 2025, patrons created more than 1,500 Valentines, allowing Geauga County Public Library not only to deliver cards to seniors in care facilities, but also to partner with the Geauga County Department on Aging, which included Valentines with mobile meal deliveries.
